Severe bleeding is the leading cause of maternal deaths in Nigeria. When a woman is hemorrhaging after child birth, her blood pressure is usually high and if not well handled can result to further complications that can lead to death.
This anti-shock garment sustains a woman up to 5 days until she is administered blood transfusion and provided with definitive medical or surgical interventions. It decreases blood loss and reverse shock by increasing blood pressure to the heart, brain, and lungs.
Through our KAMPE initiative, we are providing this LifeWrap Non-pneumatic Anti-Shock Garment (NASG) to as many maternity homes as possible and health centers across Nigeria.
